Yetemare Yastemer Ethiopia Scholarship Fund, Inc. is established to aid bright junior high school students who can not afford to continue their high school educations due to economic hardship.
- Northern Shewa is located about 100 km or approximately 65 miles north of the capital city of Addis Ababa;
- Economically it is one of the poorest areas in the country
- There are very few junior high schools.
While the fund is available to all qualified and deserving junior high school students, currently the pilot program is underway in the Northern Shewa region. It is intended to cover a larger geographic area of the country depending on resources, capacity, and participation of all concerned.

Our financial strength and membership support are critical to the gradual expansion of the program in other regions of rural Ethiopia.
At a time when a college degree is what a high school diploma was to the previous generations and the minimum entry-level requirement for almost every well-paying career requires more than high school education, YYESF plays a critical role in enabling one student at a time to attend high school and get the education he/she wants and deserves.
